Architecture Photography

Wat is an architecture Photography? Architecture photography (also referred to as building photography or structure photography) generally means photography that focuses on buildings. It can include shooting building exteriors and interiors, as well as bridges ,other structures, and cityscapes. your Architectural photography to be perfect capture phots in architecture you have to do it such as

1, Shoot in a variety of weather conditions and times of day.

2,Prioritze good lighting

3,Loook for a unique angle

4,Don't be afraid to include people (architecture doesn't exist without them)

5,Explore details as much as the whole

6,Usepost-processing tools.

How do you photography architecture interiors? Put the flash on a tripod or a stand place it a few feet always from the camera (on each side of the camera if you use two flashes for large rooms), and a foot or so behind the camera. Aim the flashes so they are pointing up at the celling, but also slightly away from the room you're shooting.

Architecture photography is the sub genre of the photography discipline where the primary emphasis is made to capturing Photography of buildings and History ,Techniques real Estate Exterior and interior.

Where do photographers focus in architecture ? Start with the far-out exterior view, showing the building in context with its' surroundings. Come in closer with a front elevation. Continue to explore the exterior with a wide-angle lens . Next ,enter the space from t

he main entrance , photographing the interior space with a wide(20-30mm)lens.

Best camera settings for architectural photography is often about getting the detail you possibly can. For that reason, shooting at a narrow aperture , such as f/11, and a low ISO, such 100 or 200, is a good combination for ensuring the sharpest possible shots.

Architecture (3)

Architectural photography often needs a wide-angle to capture the complete scene in a single frame. This effective focal length of 16-35mm allows getting the whole architecture in a single shot. Remember to focus on certain areas and detail and detail of a site , in addition to contextual shots. It's a good idea to photography in a number of lighting and weather conditions ,and scout for times when the lighting might be more ideal. In low light, tray taking multiple exposures and merging the images , blending the elements. I was captured this images at a Cannon Hill Park Birmingham (mac) and city centre Birmingham UK , it is amazing photos frame building ,element’s , colour, Rule Thirds, contrast ,leading lines and shapes also symmetrical Balance. I used different techniques of camera it dependent on weather ,you need to setting the right set of camera, In architectural photography , anywhere between a 16-35 mm focal length is ideal for interior shots. But for more detailed or intricate shots , anywhere from 35mm to 200mm will do the trick . The other

most important aspect of these lenses is the aperture.

JULIUS SHUMAN

JULIS SHUMAN was an America architectural Photographer best known for his photograph 'Case study House #22, Los Angeles, 1960 .Pierre Koenig, Architect .The house is also known as the Stahl House . Shulman's photography spread the aesthetic of California's Mid-century modern architecture around the world .

Born : 10 October 1910 , Brooklyn ,New York , United States

Artworks: Parke –Davies Building , Charles Luckman ,1961, MRE

Spouse: Olga Shulman (m.1976-1999), Emma Shulman (m.1937-1973)

Children: Judy Shulman

Parents: Max Shulman ,Yetta Shulman

JULIUS WORK

Mr. Shulman photographed buildings by some of the era's best-known architects, including Richard Neutral, Frank Lloyd Wright , Charles and Ray Eames, Mis van der Rohe and Oscar Niemeyer. But he also photographed less exalted examples of American buildings , like gas stations, apartment buildings and shopping malls.

Every artist, designer or creative mind has a favourite piece of work that they cherish. Surprisingly of all of Shulman’s photographs one of the most unusual and out of character from the bulk of his work strikes resonance with Shulman the most. Having photographed a striking cotton tree leaf Shulman had found while Golfing, it formed one of his most visionary concepts. He used it in Urban Design schools and Schools of Architecture to describe and illustrate how man can relate to nature. Shulman sees the leaf as the ultimate analogy of how developers should plan out their developments. The need to design a community within a framework in this case which he designates at the outer line of the leaf.

Some of his most famous images were taken with when compared to todays technology what would be seen as very rudimentary cameras. His photograph of the Kaufmann house was taken with an old Eastman master view camera and a primitive Schneider Angulo Lenses. However this is one of the most widely published photographs of contemporary architecture in the world.

Although very open to technology especially in his later work Shulman was always wary of over reliance on technology something which is hotly debated in all aspects of architecture today. In his book ‘The photography of architecture’ and design Shulman’s view was that the photographer should explore all types of equipment in depth and how experimentation is key before deciding on the direction of their work and type of camera.

” A photographer should think twice before investing in “the best”. I urge you to consider personal needs and experiences first. Ideally the best should be pursued, but a tool is only as good as its user”.

Shulman opened a studio in Los Angeles in 1950, by that time drawing much of his work from magazines based in New York . He remained in business full-time until the late 1980s. In 2000, Shulman gave up retirement to begin working with business partner Juergen Nogai

Julius Shulman and Juergen Nogai have had exhibitions at the Design and Architecture Museum in Frankfurt, Germany, in fall 2005 as an exhibition at the Barnsdall Municipal Gallery in Los Angeles 2006, Craig Krull Gallery Bergamot Station, Los Angeles , October 2007, and another show in spring 2009. An exhibition of their work is also scheduled in Mannheim , Germany, in 2010.

Ansel Adams work

Sierra Club and piano work

At age 17, Adams joined the Sierra Club, a group dedicated to protecting the wild places of the earth, and he was hired as the summer caretaker of the Sierra Club visitor facility in Yosemite Valley, the Le Conte Memorial Lodge, from 1920 to 1923. He remained a member throughout his lifetime and served as a director, as did his wife. He was first elected to the Sierra Club's board of directors in 1934 and served on the board for 37 years. Adams participated in the club's annual High Trips, later becoming assistant manager and official photographer for the trips. He is credited with several first ascents in the Sierra Nevada.

During his twenties, most of his friends had musical associations, particularly violinist and amateur photographer Cedric Wright, who became his best friend as well as his philosophical and cultural mentor. Their shared philosophy was from Edward Carpenter's Towards Democracy, a literary work which endorsed the pursuit of beauty in life and art. For several years, Adams carried a pocket edition with him while at Yosemite; and it became his personal philosophy as well. He later stated, "I believe in beauty. I believe in stones and water, air and soil, people and their future and their fate."

During summer, Adams would enjoy a life of hiking, camping, and photographing; and the rest of the year he worked to improve his piano playing, perfecting his piano technique and musical expression. He also gave piano lessons for extra income that allowed him to purchase a grand piano suitable to his musical ambitions. Adams was still planning a career in music. He felt that his small hands limited his repertoire, but qualified judges considered him a gifted pianist. However, when he formed the Milanvi Trio with a violinist and a dancer, he proved a poor accompanist. It took seven more years for him to conclude that, at best, he might become only a concert pianist of limited range, an accompanist, or a piano teacher.

Ansel Adams was best known for his ultra-sharp landscapes, which he achieved through the use of a 4×5 view camera. The view camera allowed Adams to adjust the film plane and the lens plane so he could control the depth of field and the size relationships of objects in the frame with tilt and rise and fall movements .Ansel Adams used the sharpest lenses he could find for his cameras, experimenting with a number of them to discover the best ones for his work, be it a 70-year-old, 12-inch Voigtlander, the renowned 12-inch Goerz Dagor or the latest 121mm Schneider Super Angulon.

Ansel Adams rose to prominence as a photographer of the American West, particularly Yosemite National Park, using his work to promote conservation of wilderness areas. His iconic black-and-white images helped to establish photography among the fine arts.

Those are three images photographed by me at the Cannock chase park ,it's fibulas quite pretty images and forests location ,also I use similarly a compositional techniques that Adams employed in many of his images was to place the horizon about two -third of the way up the frame . This mean the composition was biased in favour of the landscape rather than the sky and would help to communicate the epic scale of scene. a composition can me made up of many different elements , or only a few . It's how I put those things within a frame more or less interesting to the viewer. also included texture or surface quality to resemble textures found in real life , repetition of lines ,shapes colours and values to create invented textures. The mean principles of art are line ,shape ,colour, value form, texture, and space. also the p[principles of art and design are balance, contrast, emphasis ,movement, pattern, rhythm, and unity/variety.

What techniques does Joel Meyerowitz use?

Meyerowitz elected colour as his dedicated medium in the mid-1970s. He also moved from a handheld 35mm camera to a large-format view camera. This shift in emphasis changed his photographic technique by introducing a slower, meditative approach to his work.

Joel Meyerowitz began experimenting with using colour photography first and added black –and white photography to his work just shortly afterwards .He uses colour photography's special qualities to enhance specific parts of the image with vibrant, colourful nuances. Although there is a difference between street and candid photography, it is usually subtle with most street photography being candid in nature and some candid photography being classifiable as street photography . Street photography does not necessitate the presence of a street or even the urban environment.
